What to Expect at Your First RMT Visit
Your first visit begins with a short conversation about your health history, any pain or injuries, and what you'd like to get out of treatment. This helps your Registered Massage Therapist build a plan tailored to you.
Next comes a brief assessment — your therapist may look at your posture, range of motion, and the areas causing discomfort. You'll always be appropriately draped throughout the session, and only the area being treated is uncovered.
During the massage, communication is key. Pressure should feel effective but never unbearable, so let your therapist know if you'd like more or less. Afterward, you may receive simple stretches or self-care tips to support your recovery.
Remember to drink water after your session and give your body time to respond. Many people feel relief right away, while deeper work can take a day or two to settle.
